The Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) facility is a major component of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Landside Access Modernization Program (LAMP), which includes an Automated People Mover (APM) train system that will connect the LAX Central Terminal Area to new off-site parking and pick-up/drop-off areas, the long-awaited connection to regional transportation and connection to the ConRAC facility.
The ConRAC facility will consolidate all major rental car company operations, currently spread across the area surrounding LAX, into one convenient location. The APM will terminate on the top level of the ConRAC facility, facilitating seamless rental car pick-up/drop-off for travelers.
The ConRAC facility will house more than 18,000 vehicles. It will be completed in 2023 and is expected to achieve LEED-CS v4 Silver certification. Sustainability highlights include the use of reclaimed water for all surface landscape and extremely efficient lighting for the approximately 5 million SF of unconditioned vehicle rental, storage, and service areas, as well as a half-million SF of indoor space.
