Katy Robinson
Partner, CFO
Director of Operations & Culture
Katy manages marketing, operations, and is responsible for implementing strategies for the company’s culture as set forth by the board of directors. Katy’s experience working at the intersection of social practice and environmental policy began early. She was selected by Florida Atlantic University’s Center for Environmental Studies to film and edit a documentary on the historic Kissimmee River Restoration Project—part of the US Congress funded Water Resources Development Act of 1992. Having run her own consulting business in the sustainability and green building industry for the better part of a decade, Katy believes in applying an integrative approach to everything she does. Nothing exists in a vacuum. Context matters.
In 2008, her interest in organization as a tool for social change found a new direction with her tenure at the local chapter of the US Green Building Council, as Communications and Operations Director where she first met future Partners John Zinner and Susan Di Giulio, nearly a decade and a half ago.
Before forming ZCS, Katy provided services and worked closely with many of the region’s best green building and sustainability consultants, including ZCS’s predecessor, Zinner Consultants; she also reprised her Operations role with the US Green Building Council, Los Angeles Chapter under her consulting business. As a Founding ZCS Partner, Katy’s cumulative experiences have found a natural outlet in the foundation of the company and a fertile ground for nurturing her ideals through action.
