The Water + Life Museum is the world’s first LEED Platinum Museum (certified 2008). Located in Hemet, CA, the Museum includes two museums: the Center for Water Education and the Western Center for Archaeology and Paleontology. It was part of the construction of the Metropolitan Water District’s Diamond Valley Lake, a large water storage facility. The paleontological resources were found onsite.

Key sustainability strategies included energy efficient design and a large photovoltaic solar system; 95 percent recycled construction waste; recycled water for irrigation; daylight; and views.
