Job Description & Responsibilities
The Assistant Project Manager provides substantive support to each Project Manager through assigned documentation and calculation for a broad spectrum of rating systems. It is your job to understand the tools required to document and process the parts or credits for each project. The Assistant Project Manager plays an important role in the team as the role that can obtain the broadest experience with the majority of the services offered by ZC Sustainability (ZCS). In so doing, this role also requires excellent communication to help disseminate that knowledge to the team at-large.
In your role as Innovative Strategies Lead, you will be expected to establish the front line for new services and tools that will help the project team work better together, keeping the ZCS team at the forefront of new technologies and systems. This role will help support ZCS’s mission to be a “collaborative of trusted advisors who are committed to reducing the impact of climate change by contributing to a sustainable, high performing, equitable, and resilient built environment that enhances the health and welfare of our clients as well as our local and global community”.
This position includes the opportunity to develop and create new services that fit into our team’s unique set of expertise, interests, and market capacities. The roles and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Assisting Project Managers in tasks assigned to you for each project
Researching new strategies and tools for maximizing each rating system
Researching and testing new tools to manage certain credits more efficiently
Developing new services or refining existing services
Communicating with the client in a timely fashion
Communicating with ZCS staff in a timely fashion
Participating in marketing assignments including but not limited to: blog posts, presentations, leadership roles, education and research projects

Eligibility Requirements
Mandatory
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, or related field or demonstrated experience having worked in a similar position for 1+ years;
Familiarity with LEED rating system and others (WELL, CHPS, etc);
Familiarity with LEED Online website and credit requirements;
Excellent Communication (both, written and verbal);
Strong quantitative skills
Understanding of sustainable design strategies;
Must be a self-starter with ability to manage multiple tasks in various systems;
Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, and Google Workspace
Preferred
LEED Accredited Professional
LEED for Homes Green Rater
WELL Accredited Professional
Envision Sustainability Professional
Fitwel Ambassador
Energy and/or Daylight Modeling Experience
Understanding of current water & energy efficiency best practices
GIS experience
Past experience in the construction industry
Compensation & Benefits
ZCS is offering an annual salary of $60,000 for the first 6 months; at which point the option to increase annual salary will be evaluated. Salary is paid on the 1st of each month. You will also receive up to $500 monthly home office reimbursement (a total of $6,000 annual reimbursement for home office expenses). Including your monthly reimbursements, your annual take home will be $66,000. This is a full-time position defined by ZCS as ‘an employee regularly scheduled to work greater or equal to 30 hours per week.’ Employment with ZCS is at-will.
For all project work, you will be coordinating with the Project Manager assigned to each project, but will directly report to Glen Boldt for Project Management duties. For non-project work, Katy Robinson will be your direct report and supervisor. It is your responsibility to meet the minimum hour requirements for this position. Annual reviews take place in September of each year where we collaboratively set goals for the coming year, review performance (of the company and of the employee), and set any salary adjustments for the following calendar year.
